A Nigerian doctor living in the United States, Dr. Timileyin Oluseyi, has achieved a noteworthy milestone that has caused pride among Nigerians and the Black community worldwide.
Oluseyi achieved an unprecedented milestone in the history of the university when he received all eight of the program’s highest prizes during his medical residency graduation.
In addition to being the first Black resident to win the honours, he reportedly beat all of his colleagues in every important category.
Faculty and colleagues praised him for his outstanding achievement, which encompassed clinical excellence, leadership, research, and compassionate patient care.
In a widely shared video, the director of the program and the chairman of the department were shown paying tribute to him by flattening their bodies on the ground, a customary Yoruba gesture. According to reports, the institution’s leadership conducted careful investigation before performing the deed, which has profound cultural roots as a sign of respect.
“The chairman said, ‘We’ve never seen anything like this,'” a faculty member stated. He set the standard for this program that will never be lowered.
When his coworkers humorously gave him a wheelbarrow to help transport all of his trophies home, the celebration took a playful turn and caused laughter and joy throughout the ceremony.
