A young guy named Umar Hisham Fagge, also known as Tsulange on TikTok, has been placed on detention by a magistrate court in Kano Nomansland neighborhood due to allegations of public indecency and activities deemed to be against moral and religious principles.
The accused will remain in detention at a correctional facility until July 3, 2025, while additional investigation is conducted, according to the court, which was presided over by Magistrate Hadiza Muhammad Hassan.
After being arrested for recording a comedy scene in which he was seen taking a bath on a public road while wearing a woman’s underwear, Tsulage was arraigned by the Kano State Censorship Board.
The board considered the popular video to be not only against public decency but also against the state cultural and Islamic standards, according to a statement released by its spokesperson, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman.
The incident, according to the Censorship Board, was a part of an increasing pattern of offensive conduct among Kano social media users.
The board will continue to keep an eye on and prosecute any person or content provider who promotes what it dubbed “disruptive entertainment under the guise of humor,” the statement further emphasized.
