
The death of popular businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata has been lamented by former Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki, who has called his passing a “deep loss.” According to him, he was a tall man whose life exemplified nation-building, service, and humility.
At the age of 94, Dantata passed away in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, early on Saturday morning.
Saraki responded to the news by saying that he woke up to the heartbreaking news Dantata death, pointing out that Nigeria has lost one of its greatest leaders and quiet nation-builders. “With his death, an era characterised by moral leadership and a lifetime commitment to service comes to an end.
In a statement, Saraki added, “His life was not just lived, it was invested in Nigeria’s progress and the upliftment of its people.”
He characterised Dantata as a guy of “extraordinary substance” who, without pursuing fame, rose to prominence in the country by his contributions to philanthropy, business, and moral leadership.
He contributed to the establishment of Nigeria’s economic base through his firm. His philanthropy changed the lives of many people. And he gained the nation’s admiration for his character,” he continued.
Dantata, Saraki added, was a father figure whose guidance influenced his morals. “His loss has personally hurt me.
His quiet wisdom, compassion, and support taught me a lot. His moral character and quiet power influenced how I view service and leadership.
He offered his sympathies to the Dantata family, the Kano State administration and populace, and all Nigerians who are grieving.
“May Almighty Allah (SWT) bless Alhaji Aminu Dantata Aljannah Firdaus in His boundless mercy. Ameen.
